Emphasis on the principles and techniques as applied to chants of short and medium length as well as developing memorization and reading skills.

Level Two
Refinement of listening, reading and memorization skills as applied to longer and more complex chants. Fundamentals of the Sanskrit language in relationship to Vedic Chant.

Level Three
Chanting of complete Vedic texts such as the Taittiriya Upanishad, Shri Rudram, Mahanarayana Upanishad and Vedic Suktams.

Chant in Asana
Simple chanting and conscious breathing in asana for strength, stability, energy and focus.

Yoga Su
tras of Patañjali
Coming out of an oral tradition thousands of years old, the aphorisms of the Yoga Sutra are meant to be received, memorized and understood in the context of on-going instruction by a teacher and continuous effort by the student. Through this traditional learning process, the meaning of these ancient words of wisdom and their relevance to our modern lives is revealed.

Prāṇāyāma
Pranayama is a subtle and effective tool for influencing all levels of our system. Among its many benefits, regular and appropriately designed pranayama practice can bring nourishment to the body, balance our energy, increase mental focus and harmonize emotions. These classes explore the art and discipline of pranayama through the experience of practice and the theory behind its sequencing and application.
